- Who are we?

Established in 2011, we are a multi-disciplinary remote team who enjoys working on problems that can only be solved with a unique combination of deeply technical skills, cross-domain knowledge, robust soft-skills and innovative thinking.

We are remote by design, as this allows us to work with the best minds globally.

That said, we are formally based in Brisbane, with Talent in L.A, Tokyo and Kolkata.

We are primarily a software development and consultancy firm, but we tend to focus on novel innovation projects.

We provide a wide range of technical services, starting from bare-metal or code-level developments, all the way up to Enterprise Architect and Strategic Advisory services.

Likewise, we also provide bespoke software development services to Startups & Scaleups - whether it be building your MVP, helping you find your first staff engineers, or providing fractional CTO services.

Unlike traditional consultancy firms, we don't just "tell" you what to do, we can physically help you do it.

Our stance on AI

While it seems that the world has gone crazy with Generative AI, LLMs, Vibe-coding and fully Agentic development... we are firm believers that core technical fundamentals still matter! (perhaps more so now than ever).


AI can be a really sharp tool in the right hands, a force multiplier...

However, knowing when to use it and when to absolutely not use it, is sometimes the most important decision.

  • Implementation details matter. We believe the software world is going through a mini dark-age at the moment. Somehow people think it's OK to blindly trust code without any idea of how it works. 🤯
  • Tech Debt is not 'free'. LLM providers will tell you that future AI's will fix bad code. Maybe. However, we're not there yet, so we still need to be able to build and maintain our codebases, especially when LLM's fail.
  • Substantial threat vectors. Allowing an AI to generate random code and install random packages is needlessly risky. Given the current code climate, the likelihood of a supply chain attack is almost certain.
  • MVP's & POC's only. AI is great for quickly building greenfield prototypes, but it still fails with any meaningful complexity or context. Despite what LLM vendors say, production software still requires substantial human insight and experience to build correctly.
  • Unpredictable quality. Outsourcing our intelligence and technical soundness to an LLM is absurd. The quality of outputs often varies so significantly that it's hard to reliably predict if a solution is robust or trustworthy. Why trust your critical workflows to non-deterministic systems?
  • You pay for expertise. The solutions to complex problems are often not found in generic AI training data. Saving money by cutting corners upfront is a false economy. When systems fail, it'll cost magnitudes more to rebuild it later.

Fundamentally, we believe that most problems are not that "complex".    With sufficient time and resources, almost anything is possible

It's important to remember that most challenges can be solved once the problem is sufficiently broken down into smaller, bite-sized tasks.   It's the "nothing is too hard"  mindset that counts.
